ABENDROT

it’s all about PERSPECTIVE AND FOCUS

KOPPITSCH ABENDROT

ABENDROT – supra varietal wine that explores the pure expression of our limestone terroir

team: PERSPEKTIVE
thought: new perspectives can open your heart to change

The pursuit of finding the true essence of the limestone terroir. That’s ABENDROT. A red/rosé/white blend that unifies 7 different grape varieties that grow on our limestone hills. ABENDROT is a wine that does not fit into any category. It’s diverse & inclusive and many things at the same time. It feels like a white, soothes like a red and looks like a rosé. But most importantly – it’s buzzing and vibrant and beautifully showing a certain elegance and depth that derives from rooting in limestone. Be curious. Try something new.
ABENDROT is a wine to challenge your palate and your mind.

Enjoy ABENDROT in good company or while taking in a beautiful sunset all by yourself. ABENDROT brightens up each moment.

USER’S GUIDE
Whatever you prefer is how it should be done. You want to drink ABENDROT chilled? Go for it. You want to drink it just a bit warmer? Go for it. Shake it or not? Same. Whatever you prefer is key! Please know that all flavours develop beautifully when the lees got a good shakeup. In case you don’t want any deposit in your glass, don’t shake, open the bottle carefully and pour your glass gently. Give it some air, if the nose shows some reduction

that’s how we LOVE ABENDROT – slightly chilled and shaken well –

Long Story Short:
What is limestone TERROIR? How does it show? Does it show differently in St Laurent and Weissburgunder, or does it express itself with the same flavors and the same texture and the same vibe as it does in Blaufränkisch and Syrah?
What if we put together all grapes that we grow on the limestone hills?
How would the limestone terroir reveal itself without pinpointing it down to typical characteristics of every single grape variety (which is hardly possible in a wine that consists of 7 different grape varieties)
This is what ABENDROT is trying to do: Showcasing the limestone terroir without the help of well known mediums – the single grape variety.
Try it and see what you can find. Open your mind and let it happen!

ABENDROT can be paired with many different food styles bc the wine itself is many different things at the same time. It’s white wine, it’s red wine, it’s rosé wine, it’s skin fermented, it’s direct pressed, it’s Blaufränkisch, it’s Weissburgunder, etc…
It can be whatever you need it to be but you have to be ready for it!

ABENDROT translates into AFTERGLOW – the red colored sky before the sun goes down.

LABEL
We have these beautiful sunsets nearly every day and want to share them with YOU. The color of the wine matches the afterglow colors before they flip into violet.

VINEYARD SITE: Neuberg – limestone
NEUBERG belongs to the best vineyard sites Burgenland has to offer. It is one of the oldest vineyard sites in our area. Vines have been growing here for many of hundreds of years. NEUBERG is a very rocky limestone hill in the northwest of Neusiedl and belongs to the Leithaberg Mountains. Its hills are softly rolling towards the lake and slope either southeast or north south. The soil is diverse, ranging from pretty scarce and surfacing huge amounts of limestone fragments (in some parts schist) to heavy, rich loam .
The vine lives up to its best. The grapes we grow here are always of the utmost quality.  Delivering wines that are very purist but precise – clearly structured and with depth of character – dark but charming minerals amongst enticing fruit notes.

ABENDROT IS AVAILABLE in WHITE or brown BURGUNDY-SHAPED cork bottles with natural cork, no capsule.
